For two decades (1993–2013) Ioannis Taifacos worked hard to establish the Department of Classics and Philosophy as an autonomous administrative unit at the newly-founded University of Cyprus and to integrate it into the wider academic community. This is a rich collection of twenty-seven essays to mark the memory of Ioannis Taifacos.
